Where they come from
The pomegranate is one of the oldest fruits people have grown. It began in ancient Persia and has been cultivated in the Levant since the Bronze Age, with remains found at Jericho, before spreading all around the Mediterranean. The Wonderful variety grew from that Middle Eastern and Mediterranean stock and was first recognised in California in 1896. Today it is one of the best-known pomegranates in the world.
